Hear and see the creative work of the finalists from the MLK Jr. Art and Writing contest. Share in the words and music of the Civil Rights movement. Honor the recipients of the Community Spirit Award.

Speaker: Reverend Everett Fletcher, Bethel AME Church

Born in Bossier City, Louisiana, reared in Kansas City, KS, Pastor Fletcher received his primary and secondary education in the Kansas City Kansas Public School district, graduating from Sumner Academy of Arts and Science in 2001. Pastor Fletcher received an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He will be pursuing a Master of Divinity degree, beginning January 2022. Pastor Fletch is employed at Kansas City Kansas Community College where he serves as the Central Scheduling Supervisor. He is also the CEO of VELF Creative Events and Designs, providing services in event planning, creative graphic design, consultation, and promotional design.
